Dynamics Community Summit 2026: practical guide for Microsoft partners

Community Summit North America is the largest independent conference for the Microsoft Dynamics community. It runs each October in the United States and brings together Microsoft partners, ISVs, ERP consultancies, Dynamics practitioners, and end-user companies for several days of sessions, networking, and industry conversations that do not happen anywhere else in the year.

This guide covers what to expect from Dynamics Community Summit 2026, who attends, what Microsoft partners get out of it, how to prepare before you arrive, and what the Dynamics talent market looks like heading into the event.

Talentuch will be at the Community Summit North America 2026. We place Microsoft Dynamics professionals like Business Central developers, F&O consultants, CE specialists, and Power Platform architects for Microsoft partners globally. If you want to connect at the conference to talk about scaling your Dynamics delivery team, reach out before October or find us there.

What is Community Summit North America?

Community Summit NA evolved from Microsoft Convergence, which Microsoft ran until 2015. The Community Summit organization took over and has run the independent event since. It covers the full Microsoft Dynamics and Business Applications product family: Dynamics 365 Business Central, Finance and Operations, Customer Engagement, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Power Platform, and adjacent Microsoft technologies.

Unlike Microsoft Ignite or Microsoft Build, Community Summit NA is partner and user-driven. Sessions are submitted and delivered by practitioners. The audience is Dynamics specifically. For Microsoft partners, ISVs, and Dynamics consultancies, the density of relevant conversation per day at Summit is higher than at any other event in the calendar.

Who attends Community Summit 2026

Attendee breakdown by type

  • Microsoft Dynamics end-users are the largest group. Companies running Business Central, Finance and Operations, Customer Engagement, or legacy products like AX and NAV attend for implementation knowledge, partner connections, and direct product roadmap access.

  • Microsoft partners and implementation consultancies are Gold and Silver Partners who attend to build client relationships, stay current on product direction, and have peer conversations that do not happen in normal business settings. Most established partners send teams of between four and fifteen people.

  • ISVs building products that extend or integrate with the Dynamics platform attend to demonstrate solutions, build channel partnerships, and stay close to the end-user community.

  • Microsoft employees attend in meaningful numbers. Summit is one of the more accessible contact points for the Dynamics product teams behind BC, F&O, CE, and Power Platform.

  • Individual consultants and practitioners attend for CPD and the professional community.

What Microsoft partners get out of Community Summit NA 2026

The value of Summit for a Microsoft partner depends on what you go in looking for. Most experienced Summit attendees identify specific outcomes before they arrive rather than discovering value on the floor.

Product knowledge and roadmap access

Sessions from Microsoft and independent practitioners go deeper than published documentation. For partners whose consultants work in BC, F&O, CE, or Power Platform daily, staying current on platform changes shapes delivery quality and client conversations. The volume of sessions means consultants can spend three to four days in content specific to their domain.

Peer conversations that do not happen elsewhere

Other Microsoft partners rarely discuss delivery challenges, talent strategies, or operational problems openly in normal business settings. At the Summit they do. The informal exchange between sessions is where real information moves: which markets are growing, which are getting crowded, how partners are structuring global delivery, what actual demand for specific Dynamics products looks like on the ground.

Client and prospect relationships

End-user companies attend in significant numbers. For partners looking to build pipeline or strengthen client relationships, the conference provides multi-day access that standard business development cannot replicate. A single dinner conversation at Summit can move faster than six months of email follow-up.

Talent conversations

Every growing Microsoft partner navigates the same problem: finding Business Central developers, F&O consultants, and CE specialists with real implementation experience. At Summit those conversations happen in concentrated form. Who is hiring. Who is available. Which recruitment firms work in the Dynamics space. What the market rate for experienced D365 talent looks like now.

How to prepare for Community Summit 2026

Partners who get the most out of Summit plan before they arrive. A few things experienced attendees do consistently.

Pre-conference checklist

  • Define two or three specific outcomes, not general goals: a specific conversation, a session your consultant needs, a partner introduction you want to make

  • Identify the Microsoft product team contacts you want to reach and email them before the event

  • Map the partners and clients you want to meet and schedule those conversations in September

  • Decide who from your team attends and what each person is responsible for

  • Know your current open Dynamics roles and your twelve-month hiring plan before you arrive

  • Review the session catalog at summitna.com and assign sessions to your technical team in advance

  • Book travel and accommodation early: hotels near the venue fill quickly once registration opens

If your practice is exclusively Business Central, Directions NA in spring and Community Summit NA in October together cover the year. If your practice spans F&O, CE, or Power Platform, Community Summit NA is the primary event.

The Dynamics talent conversation at Summit 2026

One of the consistent themes at every Community Summit is the talent problem. The pool of Business Central consultants with genuine upgrade experience, F&O specialists who have delivered full implementations, and CE developers who can move across the cloud product family is smaller than the number of active searches trying to fill those roles. At Summit those conversations happen in the open.

The four hiring challenges Microsoft partners discuss at Summit

  1. Business Central supply is tight relative to demand. The ongoing migration from NAV, the expansion of BC into markets previously owned by larger ERP products, and Microsoft's continued investment in the platform have created demand that consistently outpaces supply. This has been the dominant Dynamics hiring story for three years and shows no sign of changing. BC consultants with real upgrade and go-live experience are not looking for work. They need to be reached directly.

  2. F&O talent is globally distributed. Partners building Finance and Operations practices increasingly source from Eastern Europe, India, and Latin America alongside North America. The strongest F&O profiles with genuine implementation depth are globally distributed. A locally-focused search consistently misses the best available candidates.

  3. Nearshore and global hiring is now standard practice. Microsoft partners who historically hired only in their home market have shifted toward global sourcing because the talent pipeline for specific Dynamics specialisms is global. This is the norm for established partners, not an experiment. The partners at Summit who have solved their talent problem are almost always the ones who expanded their sourcing geography.

  4. CE and Power Platform profiles have expanded. Partners who previously needed CRM consultants now need specialists across Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing, and Power Platform. The screening requirements have grown with the product family.

When and where is Community Summit North America 2026?

Community Summit North America 2026 takes place in October 2026 in the United States. For the current official dates, venue, and registration details, check summitna.com directly. The Community Summit organization sets and publishes the official event information.

Who organizes Community Summit NA?

The Community Summit organization, an independent body running events and educational resources for the Microsoft Dynamics user and partner community. It is not a Microsoft-run event.

Is Community Summit the same as Microsoft Convergence?

Community Summit NA evolved from Microsoft Convergence after Microsoft ended that conference in 2015. The audience and purpose are substantially the same: the Microsoft Dynamics partner and user community. The event is now independent from Microsoft's own conference calendar.

How is Community Summit different from Microsoft Ignite?

Microsoft Ignite is Microsoft-run and covers all Microsoft products across the full enterprise catalog. Community Summit NA is an independent conference focused on Microsoft Dynamics and Business Applications specifically. The sessions go deeper into Dynamics, the networking is with Dynamics practitioners, and the peer conversations are directly relevant to partners and consultancies building Dynamics practices.

Should I attend Community Summit NA or Directions NA?

If your practice spans the full Dynamics product family, Community Summit NA is the broader event. If your practice is exclusively Business Central, both conferences add value and many BC-focused partners attend both.

Can I connect with Talentuch at Community Summit 2026?

Yes. Reach out before October to schedule time. We will be at the conference and are glad to talk about hiring Dynamics 365 talent, scaling BC or F&O delivery teams, or global and nearshore hiring for your Microsoft practice.

Is Community Summit NA only for US-based companies?

No. The conference draws Microsoft partners and Dynamics professionals from Canada, Europe, and beyond. The content is relevant regardless of geography because the Dynamics product family is global and the talent challenges are consistent across markets.

How do I register for Community Summit North America 2026?

Registration is handled directly through the official conference website at summitna.com. Talentuch recommends registering early as sessions and accommodation near the venue fill ahead of October.
